McLAREN GT

.

Born on the track more than 50 years ago, McLaren continues to win races and championships across the world.

With the 650S GT3, customer teams took titles on each continent during 2016, while the new 570S GT4 brings motorsport to a whole new audience. McLaren continues to push the boundaries to achieve that extra tenth of a second, winning silverware and fans the world over.

CURRENT GT MODELS

Whether a track day enthusiast of a serious racer, McLaren offers a wide range of models to suit your needs from the world-beating 650S GT3 to the track-day focused 570S Sprint.

Since 2011 McLaren has been developing and building GT racing versions of the award-winning roadcars, and these have won multiple championships, races and endurance events in the hands of customer teams. In this section you will find that as well as FIA homologated GT3 and GT4-spec, road-based cars for use in global motorsport series, McLaren also offers Sprint editions of the 650S and 570S which offer a less restricted and more bespoke experience for customers who wish to run performance cars in private settings.

MCLAREN 570S GT4

The track-only 570S GT4 shares the carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis architecture with the other models in the Sports Series. This marks the first time the technology has been made available in the GT4 category, and the race-derived material is of clear benefit with inherent strength and light weight.

The track-only 570S GT4 is now available for customer deliveries around the world after its highly successful developmental season in 2016. With customer team Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse, the 570S GT4 raced in the British GT Championship as part of its development programme in the hotly contested GT4 class, scoring two pole positions and a double race win.

The 570S GT4 shares the carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis architecture with the other McLaren Sports Series cars. The 570S GT4 is the first car of its type to utilise the MonoCell II technology, giving it a clear advantage in, safety, strength and weight.

GT4 is an entry level into international GT racing. Homologated to RACB standards, the 570S GT4 is eligible to compete around the world in all national and international GT4 championships and events including: the GT4 European Series, British GT Championship, Pirelli World Challenge, 24H Series and Bathurst 12 Hours.

Aside from sharing the same chassis with the road-going 570S, the 570S GT4 features a very high proportion of identical components including the 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 M838TE engine. In 2016, McLaren GT’s developmental 570S GT4 has racked up over 10,000km of testing mileage, and competed in the full nine-round British GT Championship to ensure that the car is not only reliable but capable of winning races against well established and strong opposition.

MCLAREN 570S SPRINT

The 570S Sprint is the most track-focused model in the McLaren Sports Series line-up. Built around the carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis from the 570S Coupé road car and 570S GT4, the Sprint is both light and immensely strong. It has been conceived purely for owners to enjoy on the track and without the restrictions of any race series.

The newest in the line of McLaren Sprint models, the 570S Sprint, is the perfect example of a track-only car with road-going foundations. A more affordable model than its 650S Sprint sibling, the 570S Sprint is perfect for both entry-level and experienced track day runners looking for a new thrill, while benefitting from more than 50 years of motorsport knowledge and experience.

The safety of the driver is paramount. The 570S Sprint is built around the lightweight and incredibly robust carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis – at the core of all models in the McLaren Sports Series. The car is also fitted with an FIA-approved roll cage and its seats, (a second as an optional extra) are both fitted with a six-point racing harness.

Equipped with the familiar 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine but the powertrain is optimised for on-track performance. The front splitter and radiator have been redesigned, inspired by the 650S GT3, and its suspension system is the same as the road-going 570S Coupe, including double wishbones and anti-roll bars.
